Day 1 - Arrival - Macau & Hong Kong

The day has finally arrived!
We are flying for our getaway =)

At 4+am on 20 February 2009...

Our luggage, ready!

We, ready!

Passports and tickets, ready =)

Off we go!
To Macau - Hong Kong~
Woohooo!!

Up and above! Amidst the sky!
Our flight was at 6.05am and thus, managed to catch sunrise on board =)

Check out our seats...
We had lots of leg space!! =)

Slept and watched movies on our mobiles during the 3 hrs flight...

Arrived at Macau at about 9.30am...

The fun beings :)

This way for visitors to Macau.

Our luggage~
After grabbing them, we made our way out and took the shuttle bus to
VENETIAN~!

First glimpse of gigantic hotel!!

Majestic huh?

Lovely interiors...
Just a pity that the inside reeks of cigarette smell...
They should really make the place smoke-free...

Nevertheless, we were impressed with the decor and size...
You can't even guess how big this place is until you spend a whole afternoon checking it out from one end to the other...

It's big enough to house a concert hall...

Joey Rong Zu Er was having her concert there on the weekend of our trip...

But ultimately, my our aim is to check out this...

Asia's first billion dollar brand sale!!!!!!!!
With luxurious brands like Chloe, Coach, DKNY, Versace, Miss Sixty, Jimmy Choo etc etc etc...
Weeeeeeeee!!!

Off topic awhile: Ohh... I LOVE the chandeliers!!

Approaching the sale...
Hiak Hiak...

But....
eh? Looks like some cheapo expo hall sale??
ZZZzZZZzzZ

COACH was not there!!!
Think they withdraw last min or something :(
Sadded...\
So much for asia's biggest brand sale...
I didn't even get anything =/
Oh well...

At least we got to know what to expect on the last day of our trip in Venetian! ;)

Time to head over to HK ;)

On the way to Macau Ferry Terminal

Misty Macau...
This is where we took our pukish 1 hour ferry ride...
The waves were strong but what made us nauseous was a fellow passenger's repeated puking...
Urgh...
Just the sound of it was enough to make our stomach churn...

An Hour later...

Hello Hong Kong!

Finally arrived at Hong Kong - Tsim Sha Tsui after the torturous ferry ride...

Welcome back Ms Tan!! =D

Interiors of the HK MTR...
Glad Sg is finally adapting the lighting station map board!
Trains were so much faster than Singapore's one...

Happies!

Our home for the next 5 days 4 nights... Mong Kok...

Rai Lei Hotel!

Though small (well, what can you expect in HK?), the rooms are cosy and comfortable.
Definitely worth the money, especially when all we need is a place to bathe and sleep :)

Quickly dropped our luggage, contacted our family in Sg and we were off to explore HK!

You can find lots of cheap electronics in Sham Shui Po...
Do check out Golden Computer arcade where there are tons of IT stuff, just like our Sim Lim Sq!
We were surprised to find really cheap IT stuff there...
Good!
I hope this managed to ignite interest in NB :P

Streets of Sham Shui Po...
This area has got many wholesale clothes outlets.. but the fashion is...
Eh... abit outdated la... =X

Ambulance on a bike~
Woohoo...
How does the injured get on board?

It was already evening by the time we finished shopping and thus, time to head back to TST for the symphony of lights showcase...

Us, on the streets of TST...

Xiao Ba!!
Didn't manage to try though...

We were nearly late for the showcase as I had to figure the way to the Ave of Stars...
Had to recall something 3 years back?

Thought it was a good showcase of Hong Kong to tourists all around the world...
Good use of lighting and music... Would definitely recommend it to those going HK :)

Next, strolling down Avenue of Stars...

It was pretty cold that night and especially at harbour front...
*Brrr*

Loves!

Spent the rest of our first night at Temple Street...

Had our late dinner and traveled to another part of Temple Street that I did not go to the last time!
Seems like we missed quite a lot previously!

Anyway, Temple Street has became more vibrant since the last visit... :)
More people, more stalls and more things to look at.
:)

Enjoyed walking through the lanes with NB!
Ended the day at about 11plus and headed back to the hotel.

There you have it, the first day of our first overseas trip :)

To be continued...
