Our lovely spread!
Farmers breakfast! Omelette with ham onions tomatoes cheese and mushrooms! |
The omelette was nicely cooked and sauteed onions and mushrooms gave a flavourful and fragrant crunch! Toast was normal though.
Apples Pancake with Maple Syrup |
Fresh apples used in this pancake gave the pancake its natural sweetness! It was again, crepe like! Simply love spreading it with maple syrup and icing sugar!
Damage: €9.90 for Farmer's Breakfast + €6.90 for Apples Pancake
Rating: 8.5/10
Before we leave Amsterdam, headed over to the supermarket for some last minute shopping and to get our fresh fruit juice. Unfortunately, we didn't manage to get the kiwi drink :(
But we got these instead!
Just in case we get hungry again :P
Stoopwafels and croissants! |
Damage: €0.39 & €0.49 for croissants and €1.29 for stroopwafels
Bye Amsterdam :(
My collage of these cute 2 seater cars found all over!
Reached Amsterdam Central and purchased our tickets to the airport.
On the Keukenhof day, we bought the tickets at the information counter as we didn't have much loose coins. They charge an additional €.50 so a return trip cost us €8.50.
However, just purchasing through the machine, you save on admin fee and it cost just €4. Good if you have some loose coins when are you there!
Damage: €4
Last shot at Amsterdam Centrale before we head to the airport!
Found the same "Iamsterdam" signage at the airport with far lesser people so we took a shot this time round together!
Burger King time!
Back at Schipol Airport and after walking about, we headed for lunch at #BurgerKing.
The burger and wrap was not worth mentioning but the chilli cheese nuggets were sinful but good! Warm cheese with bits of bell peppers oozing out of the deep fried batter! Shiok!
Damage: €15.85 for 1 grilled chicken wrap, 1 grilled chicken burger meal with drinks and fries and Chili Cheese Nuggets.
Rating: 7/10
We spent the whole afternoon in the airport just chilling and shopping around while waiting for our flight.
Schiphol airport is actually pretty well "equipped" with lots of amenities and shops to visit. Not bad! Only qualm is that the free airport WIFI can only be used for 2x30mins.
Check out what alex and NB did, cycling to burn off calories and it actually let's you charge your phones with the energy you produced. Not bad at all!
Off we go to Venice! Couldn't find trains to go from Amsterdam to Venice so we took the air route!
On board Transavia.
Damage: €105
Upon reaching the airport, we got our 24 hours Unlimited Vaporetto (water bus) rides and Aerobus 5 pass at the ticket office at the arrival hall.
Saw that there's a ticket machine (See above picture) at the luggage belt area but that requires payment by credit card so we didn't get it there.
Our passes
Damage: €28
It's good for just a short stay in Venice and since the Aerobus already cost €4 on its own and each water bus ride cost €7.
However, if you are not intending to visit other islands like Murano or Burano, it's recommended not to get the unlimited pass as venice is easily accessible by foot all around, not necessary to take water bus or taxis around, just prepare to get lost around the maze like alleys :p
The Aerobus 5 is just outside the airport and once you reach Venice, simply walk towards the huge bridge and you will see the water bus stand just below it. Tap you card to enter and wait for the water bus to arrive.
Their water bus is pretty much like a small ferry that docks at multiple stops for passengers to board and alight just like our bus. Pretty interesting and a good way to see Venice from the outside.
At the Water bus stop |
It brought us to the station near our airbnb host who then bought us to the accommodation going through intimidating alleys and alleys.
Damage for Day 4 = €154.60 per pax
Photo (all except those lousy shots taken by my mobile phone) credits to Alexander!
