South Korea trip 2 with Ang family - Day 4

29 September to 09 October 2013
Seoul, Jeju Island

Day 4, 2 October 2013, Wednesday
Jeju

After a day of photoshoot, we reunite with the group to tour Jeju!
Coffee from the GS25 near the hotel.
Yums! Love drinking from the these cups.

First up, we headed to the market to have our breakfast and take a look at the local markets.

Dongmun market
20, Gwandeong-ro 14(sipsa)-gil +82-64-752-3001

Lots of fresh produce but no sign of breakfast/ hot food stalls.

Walked through the lanes and finally found some food stalls at the end of the market.

Grabbed some toppoki and kimbap!
Very yummy! Ta-bao-ed to the car and ate as we traveled to the next stop.
Damage: ₩3,000-5,000

Mysterious Road (Dokkaebi Road)

Try getting your hotel to advise the correct address or what to key in your GPS.
Followed the address found online and it led us to some govt office building.
Thankfully, managed to get the security office to led us the way (after some sign language, broken Korean and English)
Quite an interesting place to visit, can experience the mysterious encounter for yourself. ;)

Parked our car and headed for the falls.
Realised no one actually checks the tickets that we bought. =/

Pop Ice cream
Fun snack to have!

Since we are near our hotel, we drove by to check in + offload the luggage so as to lighten the car!

Hotel Little France 작은프랑스호텔

Dim rooms, not very friendly receptionist but good range of cable TV channels.

One of Jeju's famous produce - Tangerines.
One of our regret leaving Jeju last year was not having the opportunity to pick tangerines! (we arrived late on the last day of stay at Jeju and the farm we went to was closed :( )

Jeju Orange Farm
http://www.orangefarm.co.kr/
Entrance Fee: 15,000 + 5,000 for 1 basket of self-picked tangerines

Quite an interesting place, especially if you have kids.
Not only do you get to pick tangerines, you can go around the farm to see, feed and play with animals.

NB in his toppoki sauce-stained tee-shirt.

Check out the lovely deers.

These bunch of rabbits were so cute.
They stood at the door waiting eagerly when you approach the gate, knowing that you have some food for them. Once you get inside, they quickly hop towards you with their long ears high up.

Mr Donkey was tied up as he had to offer rides to visitors :(

There were ducks and chickens (not in picture) as well!

We made a boo boo here, went to the wrong farm to pick tangerines.
Apparently, we stumbled into a greenhouse area where the tangerines there were organic (better quality) and we began picking, finding the bigger and "riper" oranges to pick.
Of course, peeling some on the way to "test" the sweetness of the fruits :P

After half filling the basket, we hear the owners shouting for us and then getting us out of the area.
LOL!

They then led us to the actual place to pick:
Finally at the right place and off to pick the tangerines.
All green as this is still not the season :(
The tangerines here weren't as sweet as those in the greenhouse but we still had a good time picking them! :)

Nevertheless, we still managed to pick a basket full and surprisingly, the tangerines do taste quite sweet. According to the lady, we can keep them and it will get sweeter over time.
Indeed, on our last day in Korea, we tasted them and it was much sweeter than before!

Next stop is somewhere I read and saw a lot about.

The ladies with the ladybirds

The Ang siblings.

Went back to Seogwipo area to have our dinner at some random street.

 Damage: 3 for ₩1,000
Seafood soup at a random shop, nothing worth raving about.

Street food - fried squid.
Bad... super oily, didn't heat up the oil when re - frying the items.
Damage: 2 pieces for ₩1,000
