Jeju Island, Seoul
Day 6, 4 October 2013, Friday
Jeju - Back to Seoul
Checked out of Hotel Little France and take a long drive to the Jeju international Airport.
While the boys returned our drive at the Car rental place, the ladies took care of the luggage at the Airport.
Bye, our ride!
And our course, it was Breakfast time!
Rested feet at the airport's Caffe Bene to have our breakfast.

The top picture shows some sweet snacks I got from the supermarket near the Jeju hotel.
Thought they are savoury but turned out too be sweet. Not too bad but I would have preferred them savoury =P
Caffe Bene is one of the many Coffee joints in Korea (and one of the larger chains), and their stuff is pretty good! Got a Green Tea Latte to share with NB, was fragrant and had a good matcha scent. The Yummy honey egg sandwich was delicious too. Freshly toasted, it had a good crisp with melty cheese, sweet honey and ham. #goodbreakfast
Another snack I got in one of the 7-11. Unfortunately, couldn't find more of this at other place :(
Tokpokki Pretzel snack!
Fans of Synder Pretzel snacks (and tokpokki of course) will love this!
Can't recall the price but it's about SGD1-2+
Arrived back at Gimpo Airport after an hour's airplane ride.
It was back to Hi-Seoul hostel before heading out for our late lunch!
Yeongdeungpo Offce Branch @ 2nd floor of the shophouse.
Exit from Station and walk along the street, it's opposite Caffe Bene
(signage by the 2nd floor, you won't miss it)
Wanted to try Nolboo in Korea and while walking to the hostel, noticed one outlet nearby!
Great! ;)
This chain of Korean restaurant serves good stews, especially popular with their Budae Jijae (military stew). As the Ang Family is pretty Halal, we ordered some Dak-galbi (stirred fried Chicken) and Octopus Stew!
As it was a late lunch, the restaurant was empty and ah ju mas were watching some Korean variety shows. Haha!
The 2 stews came piping hot and oh so yummy!
The Octopus stew had a generous serving of the fresh meat (it was even wriggling) bubbling in the hot fragrant sauce, sweet and spicy all at the same time!
Dak-Galbi had chunks of chicken goodness, spicy and goes well with rice.
Talk about feasting after wedding photoshoot... -_-"'
Take subway to Dongdaemun History and Culture Park Station.
Walk out and you are greeted with the shops!
Find stuff more affordable there as compared to the other malls along the stretch.
However, don't expect superbly low prices (like that of bangkok) as you wont be getting that.
However, Korea made stuff are better in quality and make sure you check the tags so as to avoid getting "Made in China" apparels. You know where you can get those cheaper...
After shopping, we headed to the nearby Cheonggye Stream (where some Korean Dramas are filmed!).
This long stream runs through the capital and you would be able to take a nice, romantic stroll with your loved ones along the refurbished modern walkway.
Us, along the Stream.
We "parked" them all along the stream so NB and I could go recee for the famous Charcoal grilled fish and Chicken alley. Didn't want to bring the whole group along and risk getting lost midway.
Thankfully, we managed to find our way and arrived at the busy alley!
Dongdaemun's Saengseon-gui (Charcoal grilled fish) Alley and Dakhanmari (one chicken) Alley
Direction: Dongdaemun Station, Exit 9.
Walk for 200 meters and turn left after IBK bank.
Walk for 30 meters and turn right to the alley.
We were greeted with ahjumas grilling fishes on our right and stores with buzzing crowd seated around tables of boiling chicken in soup.
Wanted to try Chicken first so we headed for the stores on our left.
There was one store further in that was packed to the brim and had a snaking queue, so we decided to try the first store we saw, not too bad la!
Crowded!
We sat down quickly and this auntie brought over a big bowl of soup and quickly cut up a whole raw chicken into the soup.
We then had to wait for the soup to boil and the chicken to be cooked.
Didn't wait long with the strong fire below the pots.
Whole bowl of chicken goodness.
Liked the bird, it was cooked till soft and since it was fresh, the meat was sweet!
We were told to dip the chicken meat with the sauce which the auntie will demonstrate how to mix it up (Chilli paste, mustard i think, spring onion).
Slurps!
Unfortunately, by the time we finished the chicken, we didn't have time for grilled fish anymore.
Well, maybe next time? :D
Headed back to Dongdaemun History and Culture Park area
Randon Ice cream store along the shopping street.
Weather was cold but no one's stopping us from eating Ice Cream!
Quality is pretty good for the street stores! ;)
Our paparazzi shot.
