South Korea trip 2 with Ang family - Day 2

29 September to 09 October 2013
Seoul, Jeju Island

Day 2, 30 September 2013, Monday
Seoul to Jeju

Our first breakfast in Korea was a good Paris Baguette meal at the outlet at our hostel.
NB ordered a good mix of pastries and we found our new love in korea - cheap and deliciously sinful cream puffs!
Prices are definitely cheaper than their counterparts in Singapore (what's new right? All brands balloon their product prices when retailing in Singapore. See Krispy Kreme saga)
Prices similar to Breadtalk and we couldn't find the much raved about milk pudding there. =/
Love bread but still trying to curb eating before the photoshoot!

As we only had a couple of hours to spare before our flight to Jeju in the evening, we headed to somewhere on most tourist's visit list in Korea - Palace.

Gyeongbokgong
Guard Changing Parade 10-3pm (Every top of the hr except Tue)
This should be the most visited Palace around.
As a couple of us visited the palace before and the rest wasn't that interested in walking palaces, we just took pictures outside, watched the guard changing parade and left.

Picture perfect day!
Blue and clear skies greeted us! Love how the picture colours turned out!
Praying that Jeju skies are like that too...
Got photo-bombed by a tourist alike. lolx!

Insadong
Subway Station: Anguk
The palace is very near to Insadong, a street with lots of shops selling little souvenirs and Korean culture memorabilia. An interesting walk as you check out the area while munching on some Korea street food.
Noted however that the street food aren't the cheapest around, tourist area I guess.

Too early, not much crowd and roadside stalls.
Trivia: Starbucks in Insadong is the only one branch in the Korea whose main sign is written in Korean.

Dung (or "Dong" in Korean) shaped Red bean filled pancake. Solid amount of filling!
This time round, tried the rice punch as it comes in a set. Sweet and you can taste the roasted rice fragrance, not bad.

 Gimpo Airport
Taking Jeju Air this time round.
Smooth flight, no frills.

Upon checking in, we looked around for food and settled with some Dunkin Donuts (after some contemplation).
No donuts for me before the photoshoot but I ate something sinful as well - cheesy burrito!
My first burrito ever and boy was it yummy!

Boarding our ride to Jeju!
Unfortunately, this picturesque blue sky didn't follow us to Jeju :(

Highly recommended.
Clean, spacious and convenient (near to shopping and food street).

Had our dinner (affordable!) at a random shop along the nearby shopping street (just next the Paris Baguette Cafe).

Day ended early as NB and I head back straight to bed to catch a good rest before the hectic Day 3 cum photoshoot day!
