An old lame joke that I don't recall reading it before...
Hilarious!

魔王: Oh my GOD!
上帝: 谁叫我?
谁: 没有人叫你啊!
没有人: 我哪有?

从此, 魔王精神分裂…

I was reading an article bout doping in Olympic Games...
All the past cases with Marion Jones being the most prominent...
She was sentenced to jail, stripped off all her medals after admitting her crimes...

Aiya...
Since it's so hard to track down every case (some drugs may not able to traced...), just get all the athletes to take the same drug and complete!

and may the best man win...

Wee...
Sex and the City... I like~~
A must watch, especially to all SATC fans! =)

Been quite some time (in my sec sch days?) since I last caught Carrie Bradshaw, Samantha Jones, Charlotte York and Miranda Hobbes on screen~
Thankfully for the scriptwriters, they had a little recap of the TV series plot...
=D
Definitely helped me recall some of the scenes and characters.

Lots of beautiful clothes, bags, shoes, babes, hunks...
A DREAMY CLOSET (note: every girl's dream to own that one!)
and of cuz... hot.. ahem... sexy... ahem... scenes...
We swear it is suppose to be R21!
Colleagues were saying... they prob let loose for the gala... =D
Yay~

I was wondering how can SATC be rated any less than R21?
Well, if you watch the series, you should know why...
=P

Love how the characters stay so close to each other throughout different stages of their lives...
and how their characters remain just how they are in the series...
Carrie with her fabulous fashion sense (Oh, I must respect her for going without make-up in one of the scene... *applause*)
Samantha with her ever-hor*y, straight forward personality and Botox... (Ooo... the sushi scene was hilarious!)
Charlotte and her cute and sweet persona... well, sometimes a little... "I curse the day you are born" =/
Lawyer Miranda with her bush... LOL

Btw, a little trivia here if you don't already know
They are all above 40...
According to my colleague, Cynthia Nixon (Miranda) is actually the youngest at 41 I think...
and then... Kim Cattrall (Samantha) is the oldest at 51...
Must take my hats off Cynthia Nixon who was going through chemotherapy during movie production cuz she had breast cancer...
But she still looked good :)

So please please please, catch SATC...
2 hours of laughter, tears (for some) and enviousness *swoons at dream closet and hot bodies*

The fragility of life...

News that shocked many last night... Ms Bhutto's death
Though I don't really follow Pakistan politics...
It's pretty obvious the country's in quite a chaotic state with all the protests, bomb blasts and killings...

Though I don't quite agree with the more than often fare hikes, I've to be content with life in Singapore...
At least we don't live everyday in constant fear, paranoid about political killings and dramatic street protests.
It's definitely not a nice sight with all the streets filled with blood puddles and injured peeps (like those scenes you see on news coverage on the incident)

Mum came back last night from her trip...
One of her friend (who went along with the tour) had a sudden heart attack while they were scaling some small mountain, he collapsed and passed away just like that...

And to think we trusted travel insurances...

They didn't manage to bring the body back to Singapore cuz of the hefty fees (the insurance company didnt wanna bear the cost!) and so had to be cremated in China...

It's pretty sad not being able to be "sent off" in your own homeland and your children not being able to sent you in your "last journey"...
I always feel for those who pass away overseas...

It was suppose to be a long-awaited, fun and relaxing trip but something like tt happened..
Unexpected, traumatising for some of the travel mates and poor mum who didnt had good night rest throughout the trip...

So much unhappy incidents happening around...
What a way to end the year...

May the deceased rest in peace...

"A bride dressed in wedding finery left the Peninsula by a side exit along with her husband-to-be and guests to hold the reception at a hotel across the road.

"I'm going through with this. Rock n' Roll!" Maria-Stella Magtayo said, clutching a bouquet while a friend held the train of her off-the-shoulder white gown."

The above follows news bout Philippine Military rebels that staged a mutiny yesterday...
What's up with Asia... All the coup here and there...
*shake head*

But I thought that was hilarious...!
Cant imagine a "grand-er" wedding than hers with all the tanks, rebels and police...
Ha!
And I must say... the hotel across the road is really kind...

Oh! Thou I got the quote from yahoo news, pls support CNA! Hahahah

And oh... my condolences to the 5 rowers...
Kept seeing the stories repeat on bulletins one after another...
I do feel for the families, friends and love ones...
That's the thing about working in news, the images (often, the negative ones) keep running in your head... :(

Rest in peace.

No Hanky panky on board A380 pls...
HAhahaha
Quoted from Reuters and Channelnewsasia's news bulletin:

"Singapore Airlines says please restrain yourself."

Hilarious can?
(No, this is not the double bed... but u get the idea...)

Dearest Boys and Girls,
if you are ever rich enough to get a bed onboard SIA's SQ380's 1st class Suite, kindly get hold of yourself or your partner...

Because...

"The double cabins, though offering privacy, are neither sound-proofed nor completely sealed."

Happy Halloween!

It's the ang-moh's ghost festival and along the way to the bus stop after knocking off...
I saw little kids decorating their homes with cotton wools and fake skeletons...

I've nv celebrated this occassion like them before...
So interesting...

Snapped a pic of the pretty house outside MC...

See the "spider webs" and pumpkin-carved jack o'lanterns...

Wanna know the origin of jack o'lanterns?

Here

The Chinese have their superstitions during the Hungry Ghost Fest...
The Ang Mohs have their myths too!

Source
• Going in for dumb supper, meaning that nobody will talk while having supper, encourages the spirits to come to the table.

• It is believed that if an unmarried girl keeps a rosemary herb and a silver sixpence under her pillow on Halloween night, it is quite likely that on that very night, she would dream of her future husband.

• It is said that if you hear someone's footsteps behind you on the Halloween night, you should not turn back because it may be a dead following you. And if you commit the mistake of looking back, it is likely that you might join the dead very soon.

• People believe that if on the Halloween night, a girl carrying a lamp in her hand goes to a spring of water, she will see the reflection of her life partner in water.

• People have a superstition that if an unmarried girl carries a broken egg in a glass and takes it to a spring of water, she will be able to catch the glimpse of not just her future husband, by mixing some spring water in the glass, but also she can see the reflection of her future kids.

• There is the old saying that "black cats are bad luck". It was once believed that black cats were the devil, or consumed by evil spirits.

• People used to believe that Satan was a nut-gatherer. Nuts were also used as magic charms on the day of Halloween festival.

• If you put your clothes on inside out as well as outside walk backwards on Halloween night. At midnight you will see a witch in the sky. People used to believe witches were the devil, or that they were consumed by evil.

• There is also an old saying "if the flame on your candle goes out on Halloween celebration; it gives you the meaning that you are with a ghost".

• If you ring a bell on Halloween it will frighten evil spirits away.

• Many people used to consider that owls would dive down to eat the souls of the dying on Halloween. They used to think if you pulled your pockets out, and left them hanging, they'd be safe.

• It has been said if a bat flies into your house on Halloween, it is a sign that ghosts or spirits are very nearer, and maybe they are in your home and let the bat in.

• People used to believe that if bats are out early on Halloween, and they fly around playfully, then good weather is to come.

• If a bat flies around your house three times on Halloween, death is very soon to come

• To ward off evil spirits on Halloween, you can bury all the animal bones in your front yard, or even put a picture of an animal very close to your doorway.

• People used to believe you could walk around your house three times backwards before sunset on Halloween, and that would take care of all evil.

• It could be the spirit of a dead loved one watching you if you watch a spider on Halloween.

Hmm... Actually, some are pretty similar to the chinese ones....

The most expensive properties in the U.S...

Photos courtesy of forbes.com

165 million

135 million

125 million

125 million

I personally like the last property...
Your own lawn and beach!!
Although the rest probably have those too...

By the way, that's Donald Trump's house...
He bought it off a bankruptcy auction in 2004 at a price of 41.25 million!

These rich people...
Pure madness...

I guess the owners wun even know if some illegal imigrants decide to stay for good in some insignificant corner of the property...

Nearly everyone in my block gathered downstairs yesterday night for a meeting with our MP, Dr Vivian...
All because of their plans to build a childcare centre right in the way of our main passageway...
Protests (in the form of a petition, of course...) began last week and nearly all the units in the block has signed it, alerting our Mr MP.
Thus, he called for a residents meeting last night and to his surprise, we were a one huge group!
Even the police were alerted!

I didn't know my block had this many people!
HAha!
Call this unity or what...
How often do u see your neighbours, all (literally) at one go!?
And probably some for the first time in the past decade of living together in the same block!

The poor MP and his committee outnumbered...
And wow... Just saw a news just in...
Dr V is in Shanghai.. Haha
How exciting, we got to talk to him a day before he flew away...

I must agree he's quite a good speaker (an MP afterall...)
Started with an apology (which can never go wrong) and then continued to pacify the residents..
Starting with the nature of our estate (a young one with lots of young couples)
Moving on to stress the need for affordable childcare services for the young mummies around... At the same time, promoting "more babies"...
And finally, moving to the crux of the problem...

An interesting dialogue session we had with discussions on the future plans for the estate... Made Mum very happy (with the planned sports complex, MRT etc which eventually equates to a rise in property value = good house investment = good money = happy mummy)

Nothing's promised with the discussion like what he said "I never make promises" which is understandable...
Just hope they would do their best to settle this matter...

But I liked how he said it's his karma (for being MP) to step on some toes and have residents unhappy, scolding him etc...
And how ppl in the residents committee (volunteers) should not be reprimanded unlike him who is paid to get scolded... Lolx!
Funny how he mentioned that...

Anyway, an interesting fact I learnt...

Do you know our void decks will not be left empty?
The space would be used for "communal activities" eventually (maybe in the span of the next 30 years or so)
Communal Activities could mean offering facilities like childcare, elderly care etc...

But it's kindna sad right...
Then void deck can't be called so cuz it's not void (as in empty) anymore...
Maybe it should be called communal deck or something... =/

It was literally 心情沉重...
I can just feel the heaviness in the chest... the 闷闷 feeling...

I've lost track of the numerous sighs I made during that sleepless night...
The trembles and cold sweat...

Everything will be fine, I hope.

P.S. Thanks dearest Ah Ju for being there for me and Ah Ping for your concern...
Appreciated!

Was browsing through my previous blog entries...
Trying to dig up some memorable pieces to pin up on my side bar...
Saw these jokes that I put up...
I actually forgotten about them... =/

1:

True story, I was happy.
My girlfriend and I had been dating for over a year, and so we decided to get married.
My parents helped us in every way, my friends encouraged me, and my girlfriend?
She was a dream!
There was only one thing bothering me, very much indeed, and that one thing was her younger sister.
My prospective sister-in-law was twenty years of age, wore tight mini skirts and low cut blouses.
She would regularly bend down when near me and I got many a pleasant view of her underwear.
It had to be deliberate.
She never did it when she was near anyone else.
One day little sister called and asked me to come over to check the wedding invitations.
She was alone when I arrived.
She whispered to me that soon I was to be married, and she had feelings and desires for me that she couldn't overcome and didn't really want to overcome.
She told me that she wanted to make love to me just once before I got married and committed my life to her sister.
I was in total shock and couldn't say a word.
She said, "I'm going upstairs to my bedroom, and if you want to go ahead with it just come up and get me."
I was stunned.I was frozen in shock as I watched her go up the stairs.
When she reached the top she pulled down her panties and threw them down the stairs at me.
I stood there for a moment, then turned and went straight to the front door.
I opened the door and stepped out of the house.
I walked straight towards my car.
My future father-in-law was standing outside.
With tears in his eyes he hugged me and said, "We are very happy that you have passed our little test.
We couldn't ask for a better man for our daughter.
Welcome to the family.

"The moral of this story is:"

"Always keep your condoms in your car."

2:

Martin wakes up at home with a huge hangover.
He forces himself to open his eyes, and the first thing he sees is a couple of aspirins and a glass of water on the side table.
He sits down and sees his clothing in front of him, all clean andpressed.
Martin looks around the room and sees that it is in perfect order, spotless, clean.
So is the rest of the house.
He takes the aspirins and notices a note on the table.
"Honey, breakfast is on the stove, I left early to go shopping.LoveYou!"
So he goes to the kitchen and sure enough there is a hot breakfast and the morning newspaper.
His son is also at the table, eating.
Martin asks: "Son, what happened last night?"
His son says: "Well, you came home around 3 am drunk and delirious.
Broke some furniture, puked in the hallway, and gave yourself a blackeye when you stumbled into the door."
Confused, Martin asks: "So,why is everything in order and so clean, and breakfast is on the table waiting for me?"
His son replies" "Oh, that! Mom dragged you to the bedroom, and when she tried to take your pants off, you said,
"LADY,LEAVE ME ALONE,I"M MARRIED."
(Guys you better memorise this till it becomes second nature.)

MORAL of the tale:

Self-induced hangover -- $100.00
Broken furniture -- $2,000.00
Breakfast -- $10.00
Saying The Right Thing While Drunk -- PRICELESS
